Alina Gonzalez

Alina Gonzalez is a Law Clerk at Troutman Amin, LLP, where she assists the firm with complex federal litigation, legal research, and emerging issues in consumer protection, privacy, and telecommunications. She joined the firm in 2026 and is completing her J.D. at Western State College of Law.

Alina began her legal education at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where she ranked in the top 5% of her class. She received five CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Torts, Contracts, Business Associations, Legal Writing I, and Legal Writing II and was named to the Distinguished Honor Roll throughout her time at the school. Alina also served as a Provisional Member of the Thomas Jefferson Law Review and a Board Member of the La Raza Students Association. She was selected as a recipient of the 2024 SDCBA-ACC Diversity Fellowship and received scholarships from the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and Lawyers Club of San Diego Women and the Law Project.

After transferring to Western State College of Law, Alina continued to combine her academic studies with practical legal experience. She served as a Student Associate in Western State’s Entrepreneurship Law Clinic and subsequently its Advanced Entrepreneurship Law Clinic, where she worked directly with clients on business and transactional legal matters. She also serves on the board of Western State’s Entertainment & Sports Law Society.

Before law school, Alina attended Minot State University in North Dakota, where she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Marketing with a minor in Law and Legal Studies. She was named Minot State’s Outstanding Student of the Year in 2023, earned President’s Honor Roll and NSIC All-Academic Team honors, and competed as an NCAA Division II softball player.

As a first-generation college and law student, Alina brings the same drive and discipline that shaped her years as a collegiate athlete to the practice of law. She is particularly drawn to complex and developing areas of the law and enjoys tackling difficult legal questions. Her background in business, litigation, and transactional work gives her a practical perspective on the legal issues facing businesses in an evolving regulatory landscape.
